The Institute of Geophysics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague, together with the
Consortium "Seismic Waves in Complex 3-D Structures", Department of Geophysics, Faculty of Mathematics
and Physics, Charles University in Prague, organize a workshop "SEISMIC WAVES IN LATERALLY INHOMOGENEOUS MEDIA VII"
on June 21-26, 2010. The workshop follows the 72nd Annual Meeting of EAGE in Barcelona, 14 - 17 June 2010.
The workshop will be held at the Teplá Premonstratensian Monastery. The Monastery is
located in Western Bohemia, about 120 km from Prague.
Detailed map specifying the location of the Teplá Monastery is indicated by square on the map of
the Czech Republic. The accommodation will be
provided mostly in rooms with two beds, several with four beds.
The fee for a participant will be CZK 15000 if received in full before May 20, 2010, CZK 17000 afterwards. The fee will include registration fee, full board and accommodation for 5 days in the Monastery, social activities and conference materials. For an accompanying person, the fee will be CZK 11000, the fee for a child under 12 years will be CZK 6000.

Transportation between Prague and the Teplá Monastery will be provided on Monday,
June 21, 2010 and Saturday, June 26, 2010. Detailed information will be available
in the 3rd circular.
Oral presentations should be in English; no simultaneous translation will be provided. The oral presentation should not be longer than 15 minutes, 5 minutes after it are reserved for a discussion. One PC screen projector 1024x768 pixels and two overhead projectors will be available.
As announced in the first circular, in addition to the sessions with oral
presentations, a poster session will also be organized. The area reserved for
the presentation of a poster is of the size 145 cm (vertical)
x 95 cm (horizontal).
The posters should be prepared in English.
Participants are kindly asked to submit two files with a one-page abstract
of their contribution by April 1, 2010. One file should be an ASCII file,
the other should be a pdf or PostScript file. Please,
keep strictly to this term. The title should be typed centered in the boldface
capital letters. On the next line, author(s)' names, with the speaker's name
underlined, should be typed.
Papers presented at the workshop will be published in a special issue of the
journal Studia geophysica et geodaetica
(IF: 0.77 in 2008; IF > 0.9 expected in 2009). The reviewing process will be the
same as for regular papers, i.e., each contribution will be reviewed by two reviewers.
Papers requiring further modifications after the second round of reviewing will
not be included in the special issue. The deadline for submitting papers in the
form required by SGG will be
November 30, 2010.
A concert in the Church of the Monastery, a half-day tour to the surrounding
of the Monastery, barbecue garden party and other activities are planned.
Special excursions will be organized for accompanying persons. More details will
be given in the 3rd circular.
