The Institute of Geophysics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague, together with the
Consortium "Seismic Waves in Complex 3-D Structures", Department of Geophysics, Faculty of Mathematics
and Physics, Charles University in Prague, organize a workshop "SEISMIC WAVES IN LATERALLY INHOMOGENEOUS MEDIA VII"
in Teplá Premonstratensian Monastery
on June 21-26, 2010. The workshop follows the 72nd Annual Meeting of EAGE in Barcelona, 14 - 17 June 2010.
A temporary office of the workshop will be located in
the Institute of Geophysics,
Academy of Sciences, Bocni II, Praha 4 - Sporilov, close to the subway station
Roztyly on the line C. Phone: 267 103 111. The temporary office will be open
on Monday, June 21 from 8.00 to 16.00. Those who will arrive to the main railway
station or the station Holešovice should use the subway line C in the direction
Háje.
Those who will arrive to the airport can use city buses 119 or 100. The bus 119
will bring them to the subway station Dejvická on the line A, the bus 100 to
the subway station Zličín on the line B. The cost of a single ticket valid for
75 minutes within working hours, and allowing transfers among buses, trams and subway,
is 26.- CZK. It can be bought in vending machines at any subway station or in most
shops with newspapers. The price of taxi from the airport to the institute should be
about 800.- CZK.
Teplá is located in Western Bohemia, about 120 km west of Prague.

A bus will leave for Teplá from Institute of Geophysics on
Monday, June 21 at 13.00. On the way to Teplá, it will stop at the Ruzyne airport
around 14:00. Please, gather in the arrival hall of the Terminal 2. A person with
the symbol of the conference (SWLIM VII) will pick you up there. If necessary, the
departure times can still be slightly modified so that all of you can board the bus.
Please, be so kind and inform us about the way and time of your arrival. For those,
who will arrive with a car, free parking is available in Teplá. Departure from Teplá on
Saturday, June 26, will be at 10:00. The bus should arrive to Prague airport
between 12:00 and 13:00 and will proceed to the Institute of Geophysics. The
route may be changed according to wishes of participants of the workshop.
All participants will register in the registration office in the Institute of
Geophysics. As announced before, the conference fee of CZK 17000.- will be paid
in cash. There is no bank office at the monastery,
therefore,
it is advisable to make all the necessary bank operations prior the departure
for Tepla. There are banks and banking machines within walking distance
from the Institute of Geophysics and also in the airport.
The conference materials will be distributed during registration.
Those, who will not
arrive to the Institute of Geophysics, can register in Tepla. It is,
however, advisable to get cash in CZK in Prague.
Preliminary program remains the same as shown in the 3rd circular.
Detailed program will
be available in the Book of abstracts distributed during registration.
It will also
appear on the web several days prior the workshop.
Updated lists of contributions and of
participants are given below.
As announced in the 2nd circular, contributions will be published in a special
issue of the
impacted journal
Studia geophysica et geodaetica.
The reviewing process will be the same as for regular papers, i.e.,
each contribution will be reviewed by
two reviewers. Papers requiring further modifications after the second round
of reviewing will
not be included in the special issue, but may be published in a later one.
The deadline for submitting papers in the form required by
Studia geophysica et geodaetica
is October 31, 2010.
Those who are not going to be able to participate in the workshop are kindly asked to inform the organizers as soon as possible. Thank you.
